Penderyn Distillery

Penderyn Distillery is based near Brecon Beacons in the small town of Aberdare. Penderyn first started out in the late 1990s, with friends chatting about producing a Welsh Whiskey in the local village pub. The place was chosen for it’s access to natural spring water and it’s copper single-pot still, able to produce whiskey at a 92% industry high. Penderyn was finally launched on St. David’s day in 2004 and has quickly become one of the top award-winning distilleries for Welsh Whisky.

With all the teams hard work, this Welsh whiskey has been awarded over 50 gold medals and is available in over 40 countries worldwide. Penderyn Whisky can be purchased directly online here

One of our particular favourites is Sherrywood with a host of Gold awards under its belt, aged in ex-bourbon barrells, it has a particularly rich, fruity flavour.

Although Penderyn have focused on a wide range of award winning whiskies, theire premium spirits range is pretty special too. They’ve scooped a number of awrads at the top Gins and Spirits competitions, more rectly a Silver at the 2020 Spirits Business Global Gin Masters.

We’re also a big fan of Brecon Gin. This is super smooth and this could well be down to the use of water direct from the beautifaul Brecon Beacons nearby.
